    Matcha is a very fine.. almost green powder. It’s the tea that is used in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony- which is very interesting- so google it for details. It can be a tad bitter, so a tiny bit of sweetness can help- but don’t go dumping it into teaspoons of sugar or creamer.     In Japanese ceremonies it can be seen being “whisked” with a small bamboo whisk to a foam which breaks up any small clumps and will aid in the blending of the end product. Very little is consumed during the ceremony.

    OUR MISSION- to rescue homeless pets; obtain veterinary care and make them available for permanent placement with responsible guardians. No adoptable pet will be euthanized solely for lack of a permanent home. We will strive for increased public awareness of the need to spay/neuter and vaccinate pets, and educate the public on the proper care of companion animals. This effort is intended to reduce the large population of homeless pets, primarily in the City of Rochester.

    Sencha Fine- Japan’s best. Japan is known for their production of greens, they export mostly green teas- so they obviously now what they are doing with the delicate harvesting process. We use this quality base for our flavored greens. Although a heavier and denser whole leaf, we think it holds many of our flavors best.

    Simply put… Sencha Fine is a quality green tea on its own! It is said that many estates only use woman to pick the leaves, they feel they have a more delicate handling of the harvesting. They also have smaller hands which allows them easier access doing less damage to the leaves. NO FRILLS PACKAGING means you’ll get your tea in a Glassine Lined bag instead of the fancy labeled “normal canister or package” AND we add a little more tea for less money!

  • White Tea – Organic

    CHINA WHITE – White Peony (Pai Mu Tan) – Bringing up the end of the GREEN tea pack. The leaves are only steamed and dried- the least of all processed. Even less than all greens-This process gives whites their long twisted leaf appearance as well as leaving behind the highest level of antioxidants. Most White teas are more expensive than other teas and are considered the purest tea by some. Due in part to the delicate care that is needed with picking these teas- at some estates only women are allowed this task 🙂

    White Tea – All the rave, with all its antioxidant properties. If a touch of flavoring is requested we can add a little green flavored tea as well as herbs. When steeping, only 1 level teaspoon per 6-8 oz cup, use fresh water until steaming (not boiling) steep for 30 seconds to 1 minute White Peony will have a clean taste with a very faint hint of apple flavor. A little darker appearance than the Silver Needle Blend, but still a much lighter color than ANY green you’ll see.
