    Chun Mee is our China Green Tea. In contrast to the Japanese Greens, it has a sweeter after taste. Also called the “Eyebrow Tea” because many of the leaves processed are hand rolled and thus can curl up. Most Chun Mee teas exported are processed in part by machines, so the true hand rolling of all Chun Mee teas may be a bit exaggerated, but they do have a curled and Dryer appearance in contrast to the Sencha (Japan).

    Genmaicha – Is a green tea from Japan. During the fermentation process it’s roasted over dried rice, giving it a unique toasted rice flavor. Because it has A VERY unique green tea/rice base- to pepper (add) in any herb, the desired herbal flavor will probably get lost.

    If you like the taste of toasted rice, this tea is for you! Like all greens, steep with fresh, steaming water for 1-2 (at most) minutes or to desired taste.     A GREEN CHAI you say? Yes we did. We infused some of our basic chai spices in with green tea leaves – the trick was trying not to overpower the subtle green tea… I think we got it! So what does all that mean? Our GREEN CHAI probably won’t knock you on your butt like some of our traditional chai… it’s more of a subtle chai 🙂

  • Gunpowder Tea

    Gunpowder Green Tea from China. This tea is growing in popularity, a little naturally on the bitter side. The leaves are rolled into small balls while wet, giving it a unique characteristic. These small balls resemble “gun pellets” which one might say “gunpowder tea” obtained its name from.

    After pouring the hot water on these little balls of fire – watch them unfold into a slightly bitter brew. Remember green teas don’t usually like that boiling water – so take the pot to the tea, which will cool it down enough for the “greens”. And only steep those 1-2 minutes.
